The painter, her son, recognizes in this piece Rubiela's exemplary work as a mother. With this creation, he seeks to combat the inexorable passage of time and the oblivion that it brings, making an allusion to the drama suffered by many elderly victims of Alzheimer's, a disease that plunges them into the depths of forgetfulness and leaves them, in many cases, in a permanent apathy. In Rubiela's case, her last days, before the final two weeks, were joyful and shared in the routines of a collective home, full of playful activities and healthy follies of eighties children.
